My name is Carlos Arnaldo Marroquin Quiñonez. I was born on May 30th, 1995 in Santa Ana city. I grew up in Santa Ana, I must say that I am an active and restless boy. I like soccer and going out with my friends. Besides, one of my favorite activities is Drawing.
I have an academic life as well. I studied since Kinder Garden until 9th grade in Santa Ana city. When I fineshed 9th grade at the age of 15, I decided to move to Chalchuapa city to study High School.
I do not consider myself smart, but I like to work very hard since I like to get good results. I get good grades when I was at on High School; therefore, I felt capable to study a major at the University of El Salvador.
I started the university in 2013, and I decided to study Licenciatura en Idioma Ingles Opcion Enseñanza. At the very begining, I was not that sure of studying that career because I did not want to be a teacher, but I do like english; thus, I kept studing this. All those thoughts and feelings changed when I began to take Didactics of the English Language 1 since I had to go to Kinder Garden and teach children. At that time, I discovered that I really like teaching.
Even though teaching children is hard because they are difficult to manage, I enjoyed the classes, and I loved children to call me teacher. Now, I am taking English Didactics II, and I worked with 9th grade. It was a little complicated because they were adolescents. It was difficult to make them pay attention, but as the time passed, we become confident, and the classes turned interesting and enjoyable.
I can say that I really like teaching, and I want to become a very good teacher; therefore, I study very hard every day to improve my knowledge.
Teaching Philosophy
“Teaching is not only telling students what to do, but also helping and leading them to success." Teaching is not an easy task because we experience many difficulties every day, but it is amazing to know that we are helping students to achieve their goals. We teachers are role models for students since we lead them through the way to success
Teaching experience
I was teaching on 9th grade at "C.E. Guadalupe Retana Herrera" in Chalchuapa city, and I must say that it was a very good experience since it was the first time that I worked with adolescents. At the very beginning, I was nervous and somewhat scared because adolescents are restless and they tend to misbehave. The first classes were very difficult since students did not know me, so that did not pay attention to me. They were always making noise, and talking. But Teaching English lets me develop many types of activities to attract students' attention. I remember that they liked my warm up activities. They participated and had fun. So, they got involved in the process. From there on, everything changes, and students changes their behavior so that I could share my knowledge and help them a little bit more with their education. Therefore I consider that the power of education can change lives.
